The Sorcerer's Apprentice (tt0963966) Dave is a college student trying to pass his physics class and win over the girl of his dreams, Beck, when a peculiar man named Balthazar Blake suddenly enters his life. It turns out that Balthazar is a sorcerer in modern-day New York City, and he has been searching for someone with the same powers, or even greater, than his own. However, a malevolent figure named Maxim Horvath, who has long been Balthazar's adversary, threatens not only Blake and Dave but the entire city. Reluctantly, Dave finds himself under Balthazar's protection, and Balthazar trains him in the art and science of sorcery. Together, this unlikely duo must stop Horvath and the forces of darkness from destroying modern-day Manhattan.
