"The Oath", a political satire set in a politically divided America, revolves around Chris (Ike Barinholtz), a hot-tempered man who closely follows the news, and his more understanding wife Kai (Tiffany Haddish). When citizens are asked to sign a loyalty oath to the President after Thanksgiving, the couple can't believe what they hear and decide to rebel against it due to their conflicting beliefs. As the deadline for the oath approaches, tensions rise with argumentative relatives, Chris's anxiety, and the unexpected visit of two government agents (John Cho and Billy Magnussen), leading to chaos during the already tense Thanksgiving dinner.
