The Man Who Knew Too Little (tt0120483) Bill Murray stars in this 1997 American spy comedy film, written by Robert Farrar and Howard Franklin and directed by Jon Amiel. Wallace Ritchie (Murray) travels to England to spend his brother James' (Peter Gallagher) birthday. In order to occupy his brother, who is busy with a business dinner, Wallace must find something to do. Trouble starts when Wallace answers a phone call meant for a hitman, and he gets mistakenly involved in a real spy mission. As the plot becomes more complex, with a conspiracy to kill Russian and British diplomats on the eve of an important peace agreement between countries, Wallace finds himself being hunted by men who want a second Cold War. With no knowledge of the danger he is in, Wallace unwittingly becomes public enemy number one.
