The Jacket (tt0366627), a Turkish psychological thriller film, follows the story of Jack Starks, a former soldier who miraculously survives a severe head injury during the Gulf War. Despite his recovery, Jack constantly experiences memory problems, causing his crises to become even more intense due to his lack of family support. In a last-ditch effort to find solace, he decides to return to his hometown in Vermont. While hitchhiking, Jack comes across a broken-down car with a drunken woman and her 8-year-old daughter. They are picked up by a man heading towards the Canadian border but soon encounter a police checkpoint. These are the last fragments of memory in Jack's tumultuous mind. When he regains consciousness, he realizes he has been confined to a mental institution, accused of murdering a police officer. With no recollection of the events, Jack finds himself under the care of Dr. Becker, who administers experimental drugs, further complicating the situation. Caught between dreams and reality, Jack recalls meeting a young woman named Jackie and even spending a night at her house. Will his salvation lie in her hands, or is he doomed to die in four days, as his dreams suggest? The Jacket delves into the depths of Jack's mind, blending psychological elements with a thrilling narrative to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
