The Evil Dead (1981) Ash, the main protagonist, goes to a cabin in the Tennessee forest with his girlfriend Linda, along with another couple (Scotty and Shelly) and their friend Cheryl, for a weekend getaway. In the cellar of the cabin, they find the Book of the Dead, an ancient text containing enchantments, and a recording of demonic incantations. Unknowingly, they play the recording, awakening vengeful ancient demons. As time passes, some of them will fall under the influence of these malevolent entities.
