The Broken Circle Breakdown, Elise who is a tattoo artist, and Didier who plays banjo in a bluegrass band dressed as a cowboy, fall in love at first sight. Didier loves to talk, while Elise prefers to listen; Didier is a romantic atheist, and Elise is realistic and religious. The life-threatening illness of their little daughter Maybelle will make them question not only their love but also their lives. Directed by Felix van Groeningen, who also directed the film "The Misfortunates" which won the Golden Tulip at the Istanbul Film Festival in 2010, this passionate and music-filled drama had its premiere at the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival.
