Before I Wake, Jessie and Mark decide to adopt eight-year-old Cody after the death of their young son Sean. Cody seems adorable, warm, and loving in every way, except for his fear of falling asleep. They soon discover that Cody can actually see the truth in his dreams. Jessie, grieving, uses Cody's supernatural abilities to communicate with her deceased son. But as they both experience intense curiosity and fear through Cody's nightmares, they realize that these dreams can manifest into reality. In order to save their new family, Jessie and Mark must uncover the truth behind the horrors lurking in Cody's dreams.
