Among the cops is Sergeant Jake Roenick, who used to be a fast and efficient officer but is now desk-bound after being injured in a drug raid. His seemingly easy task is to guard the precinct until the morning of January 1st. In the early hours of December 31st, notorious crime lord Marion Bishop is cornered in a hidden corner of the city. In the shootout that follows, one cop is killed and Bishop is captured and put in handcuffs in the prison van. Along with him are drug addict Beck, con artist Smiley, and gang member Anna. Roenick and his team are in for a tough night. Things get even more complicated when two masked men attack the guards of the bus. It becomes clear that the attackers are after Bishop. Now, Roenick must organize the criminals and a handful of officers to survive the night and wait for help to arrive. With limited weapons and a lot of courage, they must find a way to make it through the night...
