Appropriate Behavior (tt3077108), Kahraman asks: "How do people meet, decide they like each other, and continue to like each other?" The film doesn't offer a formula to solve this unsolvable problem (or unexplainable miracle); instead, it tells the story in an impressive, funny, and contemporary manner. The couple in question here are two women. One is Shirin, who struggles to come out to her traditional Iranian family, where everything seems perfect from the outside. The other is Maxine, unsure if they can continue as they were after their breakup. Appropriate Behavior is a Brooklyn comedy filled with autobiographical touches, starring and directed by Desiree Akhavan (who also appears in the new season of Girls), and is one of the most entertaining films of the year.
